About Us — Who we are and why we built this

Who created this website

This website was created by a concerned member of the public who has witnessed a number of people fall victim to rogue locksmith crimes — and felt compelled to do something about it.

A relative suggested the idea — pointing out that the research and evidence gathered could help others who have been scammed, or who want to avoid being scammed in the future. We had the time, we had the tools, and nothing like this existed anywhere online. So we built it.

We are not a business. We do not earn money from this website. There are no ads, no affiliate links, and no commercial interests of any kind. This is a public interest resource — built by someone who witnessed enough harm to feel that staying silent was no longer an option.

How we researched it

Everything on this website is based on publicly available information — Google Maps listings, consumer review platforms, court records, BBC investigations, Companies House records, and Ofcom documentation. No private or confidential information has been used.

We used a range of online research tools to identify patterns in fake listings — phone number networks, address misuse, review anomalies — and cross-referenced findings against multiple public sources before publishing anything.

We have also been in contact with Trading Standards in our area who are aware of this website and have found it a useful resource.

What we are connected to

Trading Standards in our borough are aware of this issue and are aware of this website. They may find it of use in their ongoing investigations into fake locksmith listings in our area.

We have submitted a response to the Ofcom Fraudulent Advertising Consultation — deadline 2 October 2026.

We support the parliamentary petition calling on the Government to strengthen rules against scam emergency trade adverts — closing 10 September 2026.
